This book is written to help students preparing for AMIE and similar competitive examinations. Part one of the book is on refrigeration, covering fundamentals of refrigeration and different types of refrigeration systems including non-conventional, simple vapour compression, and low temperature refrigeration (cryogenics). Refrigerants, lubricants, driers, defrosting methods, and components and controls of refrigeration are also discussed. Part two is on air-conditioning and covers human comfort, psychrometrics, air-conditioning systems, components and control, air-conditioning duct, air distribution systems, and measuring instruments for air-conditioning. Part III deals with miscellany, which includes application of air-conditioning and refrigeration, maintenance and repair of domestic and commercial equipment, and tools for air conditioning and refrigeration.
