Unmanned ground assistance vehicle

By: Material type: TextPublication details: Islamabad Department of Mechatronics Engineering (Air University Main Campus) 2013Description: viii;83p. CDSummary: UGAVs (unmanned ground assistance vehicles) are used in many applications in the field of space-exploration, industry, military and medical science. The UGAV has been designed for detection and avoidance of land-mines and obstacles. This UGAV is an autonomous vehicle capable of detecting underground explosive landmines using metal detectors while the coordinates will be displayed on a LCD screen as well as avoiding obstacles in its path and rings an alarm in case of any intrusion using an IR sensor. “Although 100,000 mines are cleared per year, but the remaining 45-50 million mines will require 4500 years to be cleared through the old techniques we are using” so, this is very important to work over it to save human life and environment. This project is an optimal and economical design for the solution of these problems. It is a flexible mechatronic system that will assist human in minimizing human labor and life risk.
