Dual axis tracker for parabolic solar concentrators

By: Material type: TextTextPublication details: Islamabad Department of Mechanical Engineering (Air University Main Campus) 2013Description: 39p. CDSummary: People of undeveloped countries can get benefit from solar generated power. For this purpose small scale dual axis tracker is designed, fabricated and tested. Our whole system contain of Parabolic Solar dishes and a solar tracker. The idea was to track sun on a single tracker and to synchronize the solar dishes with it. The tracker consists of four LDR’s mounted in a square formation. Furthermore, the solar tracker can move in two directions elevation and azimuth for that purpose two RC servos are mounted on the system which are controlled by FPGA. According to our tests carried out in the month of June the highest temperature we achieved from our system was 380o C.
