This report describes the design and development of a ‘microcontroller based solar panel tracking system’. Solar tracking enables more energy to be generated because the solar panel is able to maintain a perpendicular profile to the sun’s rays. The project includes the design and construction of a Microcontroller-Based Solar Tracking Control. These solar tracking systems are controlled using PIC16F8771A Microcontroller. Two Wiper motors are mounted to control the altitude angle and elevation angle. Two pairs of Light sensors were installed for detecting the light source position. The PIC16F8771A is programmed using C language in microC PRO for PIC. This report emphasizes on how project has been developed and what equipment have been used and utilized.
