Impact of HR practices in the banking sector of Pakistan: a local perspective

This study intended to investigate the association existing between the human resources management practices and organizational performance, specifically in banks. Study’s sample size consists of banking sector of Pakistan. All level management of the sample banks i.e. top management, middle management and lower management staff have been approached. Primary data was collected through administrating questionnaires among the employees. Statistical tests were employed for the data analysis. It is revealed from the data analysis of the study that a Performance appraisal and compensation are significantly associated with the organizational performance. Whereas variables i.e. employee selection, job description and employee training were found to have insignificant relationship with the organizational performance may be because of the lower level of understanding with the HR practices in the banking sector of Pakistan.
