-- | The remarkable increase in wireless communication in the last few decades has led to the need of antennas having larger bandwidth, gain and low profile. One such method to achieve wideband/multiband antennas is by applying fractal shape into antenna geometry. This thesis presents the design and analysis of Sierpinski carpet fractal antenna arrays up to fourth iteration. The best way of gain enhancement can be obtained from the array models. Corporate feeding technique is employed to the array design to distribute input signal equally among all the individual elements. These antenna arrays are designed using High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) v13 on FR4 substrate with dielectric constant of 4.7 and fed with 50 ohms microstrip line. Performance parameters such as gain, return loss, radiation pattern etc of each array configuration are analyzed. Simulation results showed significant size reduction of each individual element without affecting antenna performance and remarkable increase in gain within each array configuration. |
