Sensorless vector control of inductionmotor drives around zero frequency Using different approaches and comparison With cd - Islamabad Department of Electrical Engineering ( Air University Main Campus) 2014. - viii; 38 p. CD

Induction machine has always been the focus of the researchers because of its self-starting mechanism and capacity to be operated in rugged environments. Constant efforts have been made to improve the level of user-friendliness, control and self-automation of the systems with the advent of technology. Previously induction machines were not being used widely despite of huge advantages over DC counterparts. But the advent of semiconductor devices and evolution of power electronics combined with DSP has set an overwhelming landmark in utility of this “industrial work horse”. These techniques have paved the way for its utilization in modern day process streams also (where variable speed operation is required) in an efficient manner both electrically as well as economically. This thesis employs various techniques i.e. Direct Field Orientation, Indirect vector control and VFD in a sensor less environment to achieve the motor control with an attempt to make it possible down to or around zero flux frequency i.e. w=0. Thus, it begins with induction motor model development in MATLAB/SIMULINK, Field oriented control is employed for motor control and sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM) technique is used for speed regulation meeting the results desired at this level.
