Trajectory following mobile robot - Islamabad Department of Mechatronics Engineering (Air University Main Campus) 2013 - vii;31p. CD
In this project we have designed and controlled a system which will navigate in a given trajectory using electronic compass and encoders. The system was implemented on a mobile robot. By using digital compass, we are able to acquire the direction of the robot. The compass enables the robot to align with a certain direction. The encoders are used to calculate the distance travelled by the robot. By integrating the direction and distance travelled, predefined paths are followed by the robot. Arduino Uno and De0 Nano FPGA board were used to implement the control the system. The robot follows the instructions which are sent through the integration of the controllers. This system can be applied in a number of commercial and industrial applications of robotics.
