The Project concentrates on tailoring an educational purpose small scale lathe whose bed length is limited to 45 cm essentially used for educational purposes by the students for their projects. This project also concentrates on building the skills for industrial purpose which may serve the students with enough technical hands-on experience. The project may be used for prototyping since once the G codes for the project are generated they may be used over and over again to produce a similar product with the same accuracy and desired precision. The lathe has been functioned to perform the desired lathe functions on the two working axis the X and the Z axis and a bed length of 45 cm. The X axis of the lathe runs perpendicular to the run of the bed whilst the Z axis is parallel to the bed. The lathe has been functioned to perform the desired functions on Aluminium and Teflon work pieces limiting the length of the work piece to 18 cm
